1. Do you provide long distance packages?

No, Cochrane Telecom Services provides only local access. Ontera is the carrier for the Cochrane area and you can reach them at 888-566-8372 or visit their website www.ontera.ca.

2. What is the standard charge to add a feature to my line

For residential, a Customer Calling Service is $4.00 for the first feature and $3.00 for each additional feature. For business, the cost is $5.00 for the first feature and $4.00 for each additional one.
For residential, an Advanced Calling Service is $4.50 for the first feature and $3.50 for each additional feature. For business, the cost is $5.50 for the first feature and $4.50 for each additional one.

3. How do I set up my phone bill to be paid online or by telephone banking?

Make sure you are setting up a bill payment to "Cochrane Telephone Services". CIBC and Scotiabank requires a 10-digit account number and the customer should use their 10-digit telephone number (example: 705272xxxx). The Caisse Populaire requires 14 digits and they should use your phone number plus another four digits (example: 705272xxxx0000).

4. What are the charges on my telephone bill?

5. Why is a deposit required?

This is a security deposit required of new customers to guarantee that bills will paid on time. After 12 consecutive months of good payment history, your deposit will be credited to your account. If a customer provides a credit reference, the deposit fee will be waived. There are other options available with regard to a deposit. For more information visit Customer Rights.

6. Do you sell or rent telephones?

Cochrane Telecom Services rents and sells telephones. Depending on the make and model, telephone rentals can vary between $4-5 per month. The benefits of renting a telephone from CTS include no charges for problems with the telephone. For more information on available telephones visit Products.

7. How do I use the Voicemail System?

Cochrane Telecom Services has provided an easy-to-follow pamphlet on how to use the Voicemail System and other features.

We are currently in the process of transferring all our customers to a new voicemail system.

8. How do I handle harassing calls?

For recurring harassing calls, please contact your local police. CTS also offers a Call Trace feature.

9. Can I change my telephone number?

Yes, you can change your telephone number at any time, however ther is a fee of $25.00 ($35.00 for business) that will apply for each request. Some restrictions may apply.
